Funding opportunities
Funding instruments for the life sciences

Overview of funding sources to be downloaded (in German language)
Funds for actors within life sciences are provided by numerous sources (such as the European Union, state and national governments). However, sponsors have a wide range of philosophies, application requirements and submission deadlines in accordance with their goals.
BIO.NRW Cluster Biotechnology North Rhine-Westphalia, in cooperation with Zenit GmbH/NRW.Europa, has published the first statewide overview of sponsors in the area of life sciences. The 52 page brochure gives potential applicants in NRW an overview of current deadlines (as of September 2011) and various sources of funding, and also provides information to help determine which research project would be most closely aligned with which sponsor. In addition, the primary contacts are listed in the overview in case additional information is desired.
The following lists a few examples:
- Funding programs in the State of North Rhine-Westphalia
- Funding programs by the federal government
- Funding programs in the European Union
